Hudson
Bay Mountain Resort offers plenty of light, dry powder for downhill
skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing along with “The Best
Terrain Park in The North” on Hudson Bay Mountain in the majestic
Bulkley Valley of Northwest British Columbia. With the most
consistent powder conditions anywhere, more than 300 acres of
exciting terrain, and our big mountain vertical, the reasons
to ski or snowboard in Smithers are obvious.
Formerly known as Ski & Ride Smithers, Hudson Bay Mountain Resort
is located 8 miles (12 km) west of Smithers in Northwest BC,
between Prince George and Prince Rupert. Access is via Ski Hill
Road.
Air Canada and Hawkair offer daily flights from Vancouver to
Smithers. B.C. Ferry Service or Alaska Ferries can deliver you
to Prince Rupert, and from Prince Rupert you can follow scenic
Highway 16 east to Smithers, or take the train (Via Rail provides
regular service to Smithers).
The Mountain Bus runs on weekends and holidays only and picks
up skiiers and boarders at Hudson Bay Lodge at 8:15, Sunshine
Inn at 8:25, Aspen Inn and Suites at 8:35, Zobnick Road (Bottom
of Trail to Town) at 8:40am, and Winterland Sport World at 8:45.
The mid-day pickup collects skiers at Zobnick Road (Bottom of
Trail to Town) at 11:30am and Winterland Sport World at 11:45am.The
bus leaves the hill for the return trip at 4:00 pm and does
the drop offs in reverse order. |
