It’s here! The ever-popular LEGO exhibition has returned to Sidney Museum, featuring a wider range of themes including Star Wars, Minecraft, Friends, Harry Potter, Batman and vintage sets! Bring the whole family to spend the day in lovely Sidney, take in the Museum, grab a bite, walk along to the sea wall, visit the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea and stop in a Buddies Toys for a new Lego purchase.
Our guests will learn about the history of the many Lego models on display, a special opportunity to guess how many bricks comprise the giant Lego Tower. Challenge yourself with a scavenger hunt with three levels of difficulty for all ages.
Lego, derived from the Danish leg godt (play well) began in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen (1891 – 1958) who began his career as a maker of wooden toys. With the introduction of the Automatic Binding Bricks in 1949, and the modern brick design in 1958, Lego began a toy revolution which culminated in Lego becoming beloved by generations, and standing the test of time.

A Celtic music, dance and party with BC top Celtic party band, The Whiskeydicks. The Whiskeydicks are a group of Celtic Gypsy party rockers who have spent the better part of 16 years carving a reputation for themselves as “One Hell of a Good Time”. The Whiskeydicks use fiery Celtic-gypsy fiddle licks, cello played like a bass, bombastic trumpet, vivacious drum beats, energetic guitar strumming, and voice to tell stories of good times past and to play songs people know but in a way they’d never imagine.
