How do I book a campsite at Cougar Creek Recreation site or nearby? I am planning to go in the firat week of August 2015 but am worried that it will be full . I need flat land access to the boat launch because of mobility issues.
Reservations aren’t accepted at Cougar Creek Campground. BC recreation sites are largely maintained by private companies on behalf of government, and this one is managed by GOLD RIVER RESOURCES LTD (as indicated on the page below), so you could do a Google search for them.

We go every year Dick is the care taker and does a wonderful job. The campsites are kept very clean and same as the toilets if you need to use them.
How many campsites are there at Cougar Creek ?? I have a 16 ft Double Eagle and am wondering if that is a good enough boat for the surrounding area to fish Salmon with.

Brett, It is big enough if you are planning to stay inshore in protected waters. If you want to go offshore, you had better have a lot of electronics and be brave and lucky. Fish August for best weather and good xalmon.
Thanks for the reply Gordon. ..we’ll be there from July 16th til the August long weekend. I’ve been told guys fish out of 12 ft tinny and do just fine inshore so well be fine as we don’t plan on going off shore anyways….just have to remember what we all fished out of before the big trophy boats and such. Double Eagles were pretty much the ticket back then…lollol cheers

No, there is no water at Cougar Creek Rec Site. Facilities indicated are a Boat Launch, boat docks, tables, and pit toilets.

Kim, you can get fresh water out of the creek which is along one edge of the campground and has trail access. I used it for dishes and cleaning etc. I suugest bringing drinking water to be safe but the creek water is drinkable if you really need it. Flows year round and had some nice pools.
What is the fee for camping?
12 Bucks a night I believe

Hi there. My husband and I are planning on coming out this Wednesday the 24th to go kayaking or 5-7 days.
How is the road for a car? If we are careful. Our other vehicle had a problem with a deer so we will need to bring the car instead.

You should have no problem with your car. I was there last year in July for 2 weeks and the road was in top form
